More than just a Gift Shop - A Community of Small Businesses
Hi, I’m Marissa, founder of Maker Market Collective — a locally owned gift shop in the heart of Port Credit, Mississauga, created to bring Canadian small businesses and our community together.
Maker Market Collective started with a simple belief: small businesses are stronger when we support one another.
As a small business owner and market vendor myself, I saw firsthand how many talented makers, artists and entrepreneurs were creating incredible products from home, but had limited opportunities to get those products in front of customers year-round.
I started organizing local markets throughout Mississauga to create those opportunities — bringing small businesses and shoppers together while building connections within our community.
As the markets grew, so did the idea for something more permanent.
In March 2025, Maker Market Collective opened its first retail shop in Port Credit, creating a year-round home for Canadian small businesses and a unique shopping destination for anyone looking to shop local in Mississauga.
Today, you'll find 70+ Canadian small businesses under one roof, with an ever-changing selection of unique gifts, handmade goods, jewellery, candles, home décor, accessories, treats, locally inspired products and one-of-a-kind finds you won't see everywhere else.

It's about creating opportunities for small businesses, building connections, supporting our local community and creating a space where Canadian entrepreneurs can grow alongside one another.
